JDE Change Password command-line (Windows console) software utility is designed to help customers automate OW User and/or OW Proxy User password changes from a command-line.

This functionality can be used manually or from batch scripts.

For example, it can be used to batch-reset all or new user passwords in the system, or instantaneously reset any Proxy User passwords in your system. It can be used with any systems management software, like Tivoli or SMS, or serve as a simple password resetting tool by support personnel, unfamiliar with EnterpriseOne.

The tool requires OW Fat Client to be be installed on the same PC prior to using it, plus a valid OW sign-on.

All updates are performed via standard OW API's and are subject to the same Application and Table Security, as anything else in the system.

The underlying API infrastructure in OW had changed around SP21_P1, with the new password encryption. This tool is working with the new API's, so if your system is pre-SP21, you may need to upgrade, in order for it to work (or ask us about the previous version of this tool, which works with pre-SP21 versions of OW).

It supports all releases from approximately XE_SP21 up to E811 with the latest SP's. There have been some SP's after SP21_P1 with encryption-specific bugs, which would affect this functionality. If you can successfully use the standard Administrative Passwords Revision program in OW, then this tool will work. Note: this tool does not "create" a new user, it only "changes the password" of an existing one.
