One Browser is a dedicated JDEdwards® EnterpriseOne® internet browser, which cannot be used to browse anything else.

The differences between this tool and any ordinary browser are:

  1. Users can be prevented from browsing the Internet, while still being allowed to connect to JDEdwards® EnterpriseOne® WEB Server(s).
  2. OneBrowser displays the currently signed-in User Name, Environment, Role and JAS Server name in the statusbar - a feature so many of us are missing in the WEB-only implementation of JDE.
  3. It has an auto-signoff feature, which ensures, that the current WEB session is cleanly exited, when closing this browser. This feature takes care of abandoned sessions, left on the WEB server, when the user closes the browser.
  4. The target JDEdwards® EnterpriseOne® WEB Server URL is configured per User or per Computer in advance, so the users do not need to know it. Once this browser is started, it automatically connects to this pre-configured URL saving the users time, while also shielding them from having to know these details.
  5. This browser lacks any Menu or Button bars, which not only offers better security through limiting the users' options, but also maximizes the viewable area, enhancing the users' experience.

Some other interesting possibilities include these:

This tool is licensed per User and the licenses are sold in 100-packs (minimum purchase). All packs, after the first, are sold with a 50% discount, much like the rest of our software tools.

Educational and other non-profit organizations can claim a substantial discount from the advertized prices - please, inquire via e-mail.

A free Trial version is available for download - it differs from the retail version in that it contains an advertisement bar and connects to our WEB site for a few seconds at startup. The retail version is, of course, free of these two additional Trial features.

Once installed, it will create two executable files in your system - One Browser itself and One Browser Configurator. You will need to run the Configurator first, to define your JAS Server base URL, as described on the main window of the Configurator tool. After it has been defined (for the currently signed-in user, or for the entire computer), you can start One Browser - there are no commands or options available in it. It immediately connects to the WEB Server previously configured with the Configurator (except, that the Trial version first connects to our WEB site briefly).

This software is not dependent on JDEdwards® EnterpriseOne® release, but is dependent on the version of MS Internet Explorer, hence the minimum technical requirements for your release of JDEdwards® EnterpriseOne® must be met at least as far as the supported IE version is concerned, i.e.: if IE7 is not supported with your version of JDE, then OneBrowser will have the same issues as IE7 when used on computers with IE7 installed.
